Cat Care
Help The Ambassador Cats

We ran across a small black cat on our visit to the Ambassador. He was just about the sweetest little bugger ever. We were surprised when we found a picture of the ebony fuzzball a few days later on this website: www.ambassadorcats.com. Turns out he’s named Sammy Davis Jr., and he has about forty feline friends living in the old hotel.

“From what we understand, the Ambassador housed a few cats during its years of operation. Since its closure, it has unfortunately become a dumping ground for unwanted cats,” said Pamela Sullivan, cat lover and volunteer. She and her husband have banded together with concerned Ambassador employees in an effort to find homes for these cats before the city levels the old hotel.

“Some of them are feral and will not be well-suited for home placements, but there are still plenty of domesticated cats that need loving homes, and semi-feral cats that, with patience and love, will make good pets. Some of these cats are completely domesticated and happily jump right into your lap and stay there.”

It’s true. Even though we looked and smelled like repellent savages, Sammy came right over to us and rubbed up against our legs. We thought he might follow us all the way back to the car, and were a little bummed when he didn’t.

Dig: Dean Martin, Ava Gardner, Joey Bishop, Danny Kaye, Frank Sinatra and our old pal, the one-eyed black Jew, all need homes. The city is going to begin demolishing the old hotel soon. If you want a cat, or if you don’t really want one but will take one as part of a concerted effort to better your sickening self, then contact ambassadorcats@yahoo.com, and let them know you care.

These furry little fuckers need your support.
