Miniature Interviews
Donal Logue
(2000)
These days, Donal Logue plays stoner-turned-father, Sean Finnerty on the WB-by-way-of-FOX sitcom "Grounded for Life." Many moons ago, he played "Jimmy the cabdriver" in a series of MTV promos. In-between, he has appeared in Blade, The Patriot, and Reindeer Games. I spoke with him on a press tour for 2000's, The Tao of Steve, which was his first starring role. He had fiery red hair, and energy to spare. Back in 2000 he was a chiseled rockabilly badass, nowadays, one could salvage a two-piece chicken dinner from his scraggly beard. That was mean. This guy seriously rules. Here is what he said about fame, and getting recognized by fans:
...and they vaguely know that you look familiar, but you didn't go to high school with them. And they don't really know where or what, but they're psyched. But it's cool, it's fun actually. Like I'm not Kurt Cobain. I could go to the fucking store without people going apeshit. Like every once in a blue moon someone says, 'hey that was cool' and so it's just nice. If it makes someone psyched, that's cool. Like it's just another opportunity as a human being, and this is just a different way, cause you could help someone with groceries into their car or something, but another opportunity to decide to be like 'okay I'm nice' as opposed to, a dick, the way some people can be, which is just insane.
